Seminars
SDS Seminars are large one-day events for a broad range of specialists from the caring professions. Stimulating, thought provoking, challenging and always practical - they provide a lot of opportunities for learning new techniques, asking questions, discussing difficulties and networking.
Copies of the PowerPoint presentation are provided on a free CD-ROM, along with re-usable worksheets, evidence-based reference lists and comprehensive further reading and resourse lists. There is no need to take lots of notes which gives you time to concentrate on the subject and participate in the discussion. All the above combined with video demonstrations and pair exercises make SDS seminars unique and memorable learning events.

Workshops
SDS Workshops are one-day practical courses in a small group with lots of opportunities to discuss your experiences and problems in the field, as well as getting direct advice from a tutor and meeting colleagues.
With printed course materials, small group work, role play demonstrations and generous time for questions and discussion - they are ideal for gaining new skills and "fine-tuning" your working techniques.

Certificate In Resource Based Therapies (4 modules course)
Approved by the British Psychological Society Learning Centre for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The Certificate in Resource Based Therapies (RBT) Course consists of 4 training modules that can be booked together or separately: RBT_101 Positive Therapy, RBT_102 Brief Solution Focused Therapy, RBT_103 BSFT with Difficult & Complex Cases, RBT_104 Motivational Interviewing & Beyond. The order, in which delegates attend the courses, is flexible. Delegates who attend one or more days will be awarded at the end with a Certificate of Attendance. As an additional option delegates can take an assessment (comprising of additional reading and an online test) – successful completion of which will result in obtaining a Certificate of Assessed Academic Competence with 10 CPD hours attached to each day.

This course outlines both motivational interviewing (MI) and behaviour change skills whilst addressing additional common motivational issues and strategies.
SKILLS FOR CLINICAL AND CASE SUPERVISION
A practical one-day course for those who supervise the clinical and casework of others.
BASIC TAI CHI SKILLS FOR USE WITH CLIENTS
A one day course for those interested in understanding and successfully using basic Tai Chi skills with a range of different client groups.
BRIEF SOLUTION FOCUSED THERAPY (A MODULE OF THE CERTIFICATE IN RBT)
Can be taken as an individual one-day course or as a part of a Certificate in Resource Based Therapies (4 days training) approved by the BPS Learning Centre. Brief Solution Focused Therapy offers at least an enhancement to existing therapeutic approaches and at best an alternative to other evidence based therapies. It utilises process techniques that predate CBT but which the latter has begun to embrace, whilst sharing a great deal with both Systemic and Client Centred approaches. This course gives you an in-depth introduction to this effective approach.
POSITIVE THERAPY (A MODULE OF THE CERTIFICATE IN RBT)
Can be taken as an individual one-day course or as a part of a Certificate in Resource Based Therapies (4 days training) approved by the BPS Learning Centre. A radical new approach for addressing clients’ complex problems by enhancing resources and promoting strengths
CBT: INTRODUCTORY COURSE (3 DAYS) - CERTIFICATE COURSE
An introductory course on this effective, evidence-based therapeutic approach developed and taught by accredited CBT therapists and multidisciplinary in nature. (Approved by the British Psychological Society Learning Centre for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development.)
BSFT WITH DIFFICULT & COMPLEX CLIENTS (A MODULE OF THE CERTIFICATE IN RBT)
Can be taken as an individual one-day course or as a part of a Certificate in Resource Based Therapies (4 days training) approved by the BPS Learning Centre. Brief Solution Focused Therapy offers at least an enhancement to existing therapeutic approaches and at best an alternative to other evidence based therapies. It utilises process techniques that predate CBT but which the latter has begun to embrace, whilst sharing a great deal with both Systemic and Client Centred approaches. Historically questioned regarding its applicability to “difficult clients” this seminar highlights it’s use with complex clients also outlining a range of techniques not demonstrated in previous SDS seminars.
