The history and evidence base of positive psychology and its
practical application. Similarities and differences between positive therapy
(PT) and other resource based therapies (RBT), i.e. BSFT & MI as well as other
therapeutic techniques (CBT, Rogerian approaches etc). The limitations of
pathology-based therapies.
10.30 Enhancing “client wellbeing”
“Teaching happiness” and its use with a range of client groups from
children to offenders. The relationship between well-being and the
reduction in “problematic behaviour”

Course Leader:
Paul Grantham MSc, M.Clin.Psychol, C.Psychol
Paul is a clinical psychologist with a background within the NHS in community care. He currently trains extensively within the NHS, Social Services and the Independent sector on a range of therapy based topic areas. His interests currently lie in addressing obstacles to personal and behavioral change. An extensively informed, and humorous presenter, he emphasises the practical rather than just the theory of client based work
