Paul Grantham, Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Paul is a clinical psychologist with extensive NHS, Social Services and training experience. He has worked extensively within the NHS and has trained staff in health care, social services, local government and education around the UK. He has written on a range of therapy and helping issues. He has a particular interest in why people do NOT change and currently focuses on overcoming obstacles to behaviour, emotion and attitude adaption in clients. An extensively informed, clinically experienced and humorous speaker he is known for his emphasis on the practicalities rather than just the theory of client-based work.

Paul is a founder and Director of The Skills Development Service Ltd and one of the most popular and inspirational tutors in the field of psychological skills training.

Julia Budnik, MD, PhD Senior Training Consultant

Julia is a qualified medical doctor with extensive clinical, managerial and teaching experience. She worked for a number of years overseas, in the NHS and privately. At present she trains extensively within the NHS, Social Services & the Independent Sector. A qualified gastroenterologist, Julia has written extensively in the field. Her current interests lie in exploring ways to improve one’s health and quality of life through psychological & behavioural change. As a presenter Julia is particularly praised for her ability to make even the most difficult topic sound easy, interesting, practical and lively.

Julia is a co-founder of The Skills Development Service Media LLP and is particularly interested in producing teaching materials in non-traditional formats – DVD, CD, online training.

Tom Werner, MD, MBACP (Accred)

Tom is a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Forensic at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He worked for a number of years at the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Unit in the Maudsley Hospital and has extensive experience of working with a range of different client groups including adult mental health, older people, substance misusers, children and families. An accredited CBT therapist from Kings College, London, he also has experience of working with a range of other models including (amongst others) Kleinian psychodynamic psychotherapy, NLP and systemic family therapy. He has a particular interest in trainee learning styles and has an excellent reputation as an informed and dynamic trainer.

Glen Macklin, MBACP (Accred)

Glen Macklin is an Honorary Lecturer at Birmingham University, an accredited CBT therapist and a Consultant to Birmingham Youth Offending Services. With over thirteen years in a forensic setting looking after and treating adolescent offenders, he has extensive practical experience of working with challenging adolescents. His combined knowledge of evidence based practice, extensive experience and superb training skills make him an excellent and stimulating tutor to work with.

Andrea Williams, Qualified Teacher of Infinite Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Meditation

Andrea is a Qualified Teacher and Practitioner of Mindfulness & Tai Chi. She has used Mindfulness and Tai Chi with a range of different social and medical client groups. She is extensively experienced in the practicalities of running mindfulness groups. In addition she has practised and trained in a range of different types of yoga over the last 30 years.

Andrea is well respected in her field and has a reputation for being a sensitive and experienced practitioner as well as accessible and sympathetic trainer.

Tinu Cornish, PGD Occupational Psychologist

Tinu is an Occupational & Organisational Psychologist with over twenty years experience in the fields of leadership, team development and diversity. Tinu's mission is to help people reach their potential in happy, positive and productive workplaces. She has a passion for developing managers to achieve this. Tinu is a very engaging facilitator who believes that delegates learn best by doing as well as thinking. Her courses are highly participative as well as based on sound evidence-based psychological theory.

Sue is a highly qualified and skilled practitioner with many years experience in counselling, management and training.
